Maa Gayatri Boys Hostel (“we”, “us”) runs the website patnaboyshostel.com. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit the website and how we use it. We keep this deliberately simple, because we collect very little.
Who we are
Maa Gayatri Boys Hostel, C/o Rameshwar Chaudhary, near Model St. Michael's High School, Buddha Colony, Patna, Bihar 800001, India. You can reach us on 95346 96959 or on WhatsApp at 62014 22556.
Information we collect
Information you give us
The website has no contact form and takes no payments. If you want a seat or more details you contact us yourself by phone, WhatsApp or in person, and any information you share that way is used only to answer your enquiry.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records basic technical details of each visit — your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time — to keep the site running and secure.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they find useful, and roughly where visitors come from (for example a Google search or a WhatsApp link). This uses cookies and collects usage data in a way that does not, by itself, tell us who you personally are.
- Fonts. The website loads its display fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We do not control what Google does with it.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. The ones this website may use:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Measures visits and which pages are popular. Does not identify you by name. |
| mgbh_admin | Our own site | Only ever set for hostel staff who sign in to the private admin area. It is never set for ordinary visitors. |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the website will still work. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
How we use this information
- To keep the website online, fast and secure.
- To understand what visitors are looking for, so we can improve the pages.
- To answer enquiries you send us.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We do not share your information with anyone except the service providers who make the website work:
- Hostinger — hosts the website and keeps the server logs.
- Google — provides Google Analytics and Google Fonts.
These providers process data on their own servers under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Children and photographs
This website is meant for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. Photographs of residents, including children, are published only with the consent of their parent or guardian. If you would like a photograph removed, please contact us and we will take it down.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider. Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months and then deleted. Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may raise a grievance about how it is handled. To do any of these, or if you have a question about this policy, contact us on 95346 96959 or WhatsApp 62014 22556. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
Security
The website runs only over a secure (HTTPS) connection and we take reasonable steps to protect it. No website can be perfectly secure, but we do not store any payment details or sensitive personal data on this site.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website handles information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top.
